Björn Ninchi

Le Esperidi, a life choice

Björn Ninchi

From a boy in a caravan to a member of the team: the story of Björn, who grew up between the reception and the village lake.

The day I became a member of the team was like being called up for the national side.

Björn was born in Genoa in 1986. His name is a tribute from his mother to the tennis player Björn Borg, of whom she was a great fan. His parents first came to Le Esperidi in 1983, in a tent; the following summer, at ten months old, Björn made his first entrance into the campsite.

He has never left since. At five years old, while the other children went to the Mini Club, he preferred to sit at reception and watch the staff at work. Summer after summer he learned to know every corner of the campsite.

At seventeen his dream came true: from a regular guest he became a member of staff. In 2008 he joined the maintenance and project delivery team on a permanent basis. Today he lives at Le Esperidi more than in Genoa.

He has helped create works such as the Central Sanitary Block, the Bathing Lake and the Poggetto Sanitary Block. «The greatest satisfaction is in the admiring gaze of our guests,» he says. And the future, for him, is green: «Le Esperidi have chosen to be an eco-sustainable company. This has led us to obtain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and the Ecolabel».
