The sea, two hours from Florence
The sea, two hours from Florence
Florence is about 120 km away: just under two hours by car to swap the Arno for the sea of the Etruscan Coast, between pinewood, lake and beach.
The most direct route is the Fi-Pi-Li to Livorno, then the S.S.1 Aurelia southbound and the exit at La California-Cecina sud. Alternatively take the A1 to Firenze Certosa and head towards Pisa: travelling time is much the same.
Two hours is the right distance for a long weekend: Florence on Saturday, the sea on Sunday, without giving up a night under the pines.
